Leg wound - infection?

I saw one of my older hens limping when walking in the run today. Could not get a good look at her but it looks like a rather large lump, looks to be about the size of a "I got it" rubber ball on her leg. I need to pull her out tonight to get a good look at her but not sure what to do to treat this. Any suggestions.

when you pull her out, take a picture. Clean it and look at it, touch it to see if its hot. Post the pictures and we will see from there.
