I think the deal is for getting a permit is with the permit you may purchase, possess, propagate, transport, and sell domestic game birds dead or alive and their eggs.

at the moment im supposed to have a 10$ permit but i only 5 atm when i get more and get chukars and bobwhites ill get the other type of permit but that permit costs 50$ so im gonna make sure i can make my moneys worth off it

In Missouri ... I purchased a permit for one fiscal year- cost of $10. It ONLY allows raising quail for our own use. They are NOT permitted to be "set free" (they would die anyway) and you must provide documentation of where your eggs were (are) purchased to be assured we're not stealing them from the wild quail.

Dont be so sure about that..... someone years ago let a bunch of turkey, pheasant, bobwhite and coturnix quail loose up here in Alaska. They have been seen with young in tow so they are surviving and breeding on their own.
