Hello,
I have a Legbar hen about 8 months old that is poorly. I've noticed for a couple days she was just hanging out and not moving around alot, kind of fluffed up. I picked her up last night and she feels very light, like she has lost weight. I soaked her in an epsomsalt bath and then felt inside for an egg. No egg was present. I don't smell anything sour from her mouth though I did not squeeze/feel her crop. I isolated her in a big dog crate and put some rooster booster in her water and a dish of food. I saw her peck at the food a bit but not very enthusiastically. This morning when I checked on her, she had very stinky green runny poop. No one else is ill or acting funny, just her. Was going to pick up some Corid tonight and try that otherwise I have no clue. She does not have any injuries anywhere on her. She did not molt, feathers all look fine and in tact.

Was she laying eggs prior to becoming like this? If so, has she laid any since?

The poop could be emaciation from lack of eating.

The puffiness though can be a symptom of being egg bound. I think to be on the safe side I'd give her a human calcium pill, whole if you can, by opening her beak and putting it in her mouth. Some pull down on wattles to open a beak. I hold them in my left arm and use two fingers to pry it open.

This will cause contractions and she should expel the egg or anything else that could be there.

You could also pick up some baby parrot food, namely Kaytee Exact. You could mix it with her feed and make a mash with water or try scrambled eggs. That would get her nutrients plus help her get some weight back.

I believe she was laying, but I have 30 chickens, hard to know who's egg is who's :( I will get some calcium today afterwork. I saw some people give with the D3 in it. I have not tried that yet. Should I still do the Corid? or wait and see if the Calcium does anything? I'll keep giving the Rooster Booster Poultry Cell in her water. Should I try feeding raw egg to her? or anything else?

Well hen is still alive. She is barely eating or drinking. I have been giving her the calcium citrate for the last 2 days, no egg has passed. Not sure what to do to get her to eat. Offering pellets and calcium in separate dish, and raw egg in another. And rooster booster poultry cell in her water.
