When my hubby brought home my birthday chicks he picked 2 leghorns and 2 Delaware's out of different brooders. This was at our local feed store. They have thousands of chicks go through in the spring. So my kids are now 5-6 weeks old. They are still pure white. Not a black or grey feather to be seen.
At what age do the Delaware's begin growing their darker neck & tail feathers? I've seen pictures of chicks younger than mine who have the distinguishing feathers
Or did I end up with 4 leghorns?

I think you got 4 Leghorns. They are wonderful chickens, small on size and eating, but produce wonderful large eggs! They would have some black feathers by now if they were Delawares. :D
That's what I thought, but hubby insisted the sign on the other brooder said Delaware's. They are all super sweet and follow me around. I'm okay with them all being Leghorns! I honestly wonder if any of the breeds I have are correct lol
