Ok so, I have two brown leghorns and recently one of them, Laverne, just stopped laying eggs! She isn't egg bound and doesn't have a broken egg in her. Is this normal or what because I thought they usually only skip 1 day. (If you want to know what happened before she stopped feel free to ask)

Thanks!

Most hens don't lay every single day. They can be regular and have what's considered a normal amount they lay during a week, but that's changeable based on many factors. So not laying for a bit and taking a break is normal for every hen.

Well, yeah, knowing what 'happened before' would definitely help.
The more info the better...age, how long laying, any changes in flock and/or housing.
Many things can apply.

Well, she's a VERY shy chicken and I opened up the nesting box on her.
UPDATE:
She layed one or two eggs and then stopped again. Rooster stress? Laying in the spring or fall?

A little older than 6 months I believe, started laying a month ago.

Mom is thinking about killing her if she doesn't lay soon because she's just eating and taking up space!

Don't worry my chickens did that a lot when they first started laying but after a few days they started up again

Well, 8 you mean a few days as in a few days (1-7 or whatever) I've been waiting weeks almost a month!
