I just went out to get eggs for a customer and found my first white egg. It was layed by my leghorn. i thought that mediteranian breeds didnt lay in the cold. Im not complaining or anything, i just wanted to know. My buff orpingtons have been laying for a week now and im still waiting for my americauna, cant wait to see her eggs.

I have gotten an egg a day from each of my two white leghorns almost every day for the past week and it has been snowing and well below freezing. I'm getting 7-10 eggs a day total from my 26 birds. The white leghorns I know for sure are laying since they're the only ones I have that lay white eggs, but I think the Buff Orpingtons and cinnamon queens are doing well also. My EEs (I think only one or two of them are laying right now) have produced about 2 eggs total this last week.
I don't know about other mediterranean breeds but my white leghorns lay well even in the cold.
