Leghorn or Cornish Rock? (Or something else??)

Definetly Cornish Xs. I had the opposite problem... I ordered 5 chicks from Meyers and they sent me a free 'Meal Maker'. With that name I assumed it was a Cornish X. It wasn't... She's a leghorn... Which works for me, as I have my chickens mostly for the eggs.

This is a zombie thread (2014). Sometimes people reply to something old they found while searching rather than starting a new thread.

FWIW, the meal maker is supposed to be an egg producer if you ordered laying pullets or a broiler if you ordered meat birds. It isn't like the packing peanuts one hatchery uses (all male chicks) or the free exotic straight run chick another offers.

Omg, I can't believe I didn't notice the date on the OP.

Yea, I was explained that much later... Quite happy to have a little Leghorn pullet than a big Cornish x I was gonna have to butcher!

Sorry to hear that. We had the same issue. We had to put it down. But it did provide us with a nice meal. (Not being mean or anything. ) We also got ours asst TSC. Trying to find a breeder of leghorn for next time.
