was wondering if a leghorn pullet will set? will she start to lay, then immediately try to go to setting/

That's a pattern of behavior more associated with a Silkie or similar bantam than a layer breed. Nobody can guarantee that your hen will or won't go to setting, or ever brood or become a mother.

It's not too likely with some leghorn strains but others are more broody and maternal. I've had leghorns who never mothered and others who did. I've also had pullets who mothered and hens who decided in their old age they'd like to do the same, even though they'd never done it before... What they will or won't do is very, very hard to predict when it comes to maternal instincts.

Best wishes.
