So Daisy ended up in the right most yellow box and laid. First time
This box has seen action - although it’s only been in that location 2 days. Isis also laid so she should clam the heck down. Raven is back up in a White box.

I think the excitement for the day is over. Most of my older hens have not yet laid today. We’ll see if all this drama this morning effects them or not!

FWIW, my two Leghorns are total assholes and I could see them doing this! But the other five are not laying yet so time will tell. The Leghorns are about a month older and started laying two weeks ago. They boss all the other chickens around. I can’t tell who among the two of them is the alpha though. They sort of co-rule! If anyone is curious the other five are two EE, and one each barred rock, New Hampshire red, and Welsummer.

More drama but of a totally different nature. Had an unexpected hen death. That’s for a new thread.

It’s interesting how different each chicken is. Some really are jerks or just so aggressive to be almost looking/eager to kill another chicken. And then some are so clam and chill.

Maybe due to the middle of
The night death the hens this morning seem calmer/less fired up. Cinders, who had trouble getting into the regular boxes yesterday and finally did a sneak in drop and run, laid in the sun roost already today. Smart girl!

There is nest box pecking I saw when doing the morning chores but way less than yesterday. But I’m not going to be out there for hours right now cause I’m dealing with the dead hen.
