Got these 3 leghorns from a farm. Coop was pretty dirty on a series of rainy days. Their head area down have some darker, maybe redish tint to them on two of them. The third one is pretty white all over. The two that has some shade of another color already has their comb and stuff, the third really white one does not, but looks a little smaller also. Are they all really pearl white leghorns as promised??
Any ideas on sex of these three will be appreciated also... thanks

This is one of the ones with some color mixed in, maybe just dirty still???

Here is the one that is really white, no comb yet, maybe a slower developer???

Another one of the really white one.

The third one with some color/dirt??

So the two that have their combs already are boys?

The people I got them from swear they are leghorn, how are you guys sure they are not?
No offense to you guy's knowledge, just wanto make sure....

Leghorns have "tight" feathers, and are very lanky. They are a Mediterranean breed and most hens don't exceed 5-6lbs at best. Mine is half the size of my dual purpose standards. As chicks they have no extra "meat" on them and they have a skinny look to them - your chicks are filling out fluffy and full-bodied. Rocks have a "tea kettle" shape that they develop pretty early on.

Another way to tell is that leghorns, with rare exception I understand, are very skittish. Mine think the devil is upon them when they even SEE me. On the contrary, rocks are very friendly and curious and will be the first to your hand when you hold out a treat or other unknown goody.
