What makes you think it’s a rooster?
The size of his comb and the set of his neck and tail. I've found that often my Leghorn roo-chicks have a "cocky" look to them very early on and by a month their little combs are turning bright red.
I like the trait and breed for it in my crossbreds - I like being able to pick the roosters out asap. I usually feed them differently, because I process most of them.
 
Anything is possible from TSC. Not all California Whites have spots when they are chicks. Sometimes the spots come in later. I’ve had one CW in the past and she got many more spots as she feathered in.

Good information to know. Thank you. I’m very curious to see how each chick turns out. The one you pointed out and the one with the black spots both seem to be Roos to me because of the short tail and larger combs. Total guess! I haven’t noticed any cocky behavior yet, but I’ll have to keep my eye out to see if they show those characteristics too!
