I'm very pragmatic.

Now deceased representative Alcee Hastings was repeatedly re-elected in that general area of FL - he got the job after being impeached as a Federal Judge. One of the charges on which he was impeached was Bribery. Meanwhile, the front runner in the upcoming primaries is politely described as "well connected" due to his control over zoning and permitting...

...and while its an "open secret", neither make waves. Apparently, they can be bought for reasonable amounts, and stay bought. That reliability is unusual among those whose loyalties can be purchased. Or so I have surmised.
