Leilani (as you all know, recently got married) laid her first egg yesterday! She has been making a nest under our steps from the back patio. It's funny too cuz when the dogs go in and out of the house, she sticks her head out between the steps and fusses as each dog goes by.
I think I will blow this egg and keep it forever.

Congratulations to you both

Congratulations! My first year my goose was laying I blew most of her eggs and we decorated them for Christmas. Would probably be better for Easter. You could dye it.

Awesome!! That is too funny about the dogs though. She is letting them know under no circumstances will her children be disturbed when she gets ready to have them. lol

I usually take a needle and scratch at each end of the egg until I am able to puncture thru and make a small hole. Then, I literally blow into one end until the yolk and white blow out. I will also take the long needle and scramble the insides up, makes it blow out easier. Then I take some Tylenol.

Thanks I'm going to try that on some of my eggs this spring... What could you do to make the shell hard so it does not break easily???

My ducks, chicken and geese eggs are really hard due to their healthy diet and calcium grit they get daily.
