Lemon blue question?

I'm getting some lemon blue cochins some time (well, I'm on an uber long list). So I guess I could cross them into my birds. That should make things a little easier

Lavender in two copies would dilute the gold considerably as well as the black, so yes, it could look more yellow.

I have lavender, blue/black mottled Cochin eggs in my incubator right now. I think I'll purchase some blue and some Birchen and give it a go with Birchen/blue and Birchen/lavender too see for myself how it comes out...

Unless someone has pictures to share, then I'll know.

lavender on a brown red will give you a self blue buff to a yellow cream color- a lavender bird with hackles being buff to a yellow cream color color. They should show some buff/yellow cream lacing on the breast.

You could get yellowish feathers where the gold/red pigment is diluted.

This is an almost lavender partridge Orpington pullet at about 5-6 weeks. Pg/pg+ I think.
The diluted gold is a bit more yellow in real life. The colours (but not the pattern)would be similar for lavender on gold birchen.

I'll post another thread on the pattern, but would you consider this bird to be lavender partridge or blue partridge? The colours are accurate.
