Length of time to give penicillin?

The bottle of penicillin says not to exceed four consecutive days. Then again, poultry is not even mentioned on the bottle, so it's not like the instructions are for poultry period. I don't want to overdose or kill my rooster, but I also don't want to create resistant bacteria either. I've been giving him 0.7 cc IM each day for four days now. So I'm trying to decide if I'm going to keep going.

What I've read for wounds & Bumblefoot: 1/4 to 1/2 cc per day for 5-7 days subcutaneous or in breast muscle. Frequency of administration would depend on whether the you get short, medium or long-acting Penicillin.
