I used to get 7 to 9 eggs a day and now I’m only getting between 4 and 5 eggs daily. I have been feeding them the same thing the whole time I have had them. I’m not sure how old my hens are because they were given to me. I’m wondering if my jerk of a rooster is stressing them out. I have noticed that some of my hens have gotten a little bald on there head. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong. Or if I need to get rid of my rooster. I have 13 hens and one rooster.

My first question is, is it hot where you are? Second question, how much sunshine have they been getting?

Also, could you have molting hens? Or have you noticed any off-behavior, like broodiness?

It has been warmer the last two weeks. High eighties. Which is a lot warmer for flagstaff,az. My backyard birds have a lot of sun they have free range of my backyard. Maybe I need to provide more shade. At night they sleep in children’s playhouses. No broody hens so far. I have turkeys geese and ducks also. That share my backyard but they all sleep in different playhouses by the breed of birds at night. And my husband is going to expand my backyard this summer so they have more room to roam.

Maybe some are just taking a little break. Mine do that sometimes for no apparent reason. I don't really know anything about keeping a roo, so I wouldn't know if that would be part of your problem or not.
