I have a black Dutch doe bred to a blue Dutch buck due on the 26th of this month. Checked her belly today and she's definitely going to pop soon! Squee!
I'm uber stoked about this litter. I have two of her daughters and their just beautiful little Dutches. Great personalities too, I spend at least ten minuets a day just snuggling them and telling them how darned cute they are
And that Dutch with the messed leg? (doing great, btw) HE turned six in a half months old. I was checking his leg and found a pair of 'definite boy parts', so he got moved away from the does just to be safe. Looks like I have a new herdsire in the house, the other blue is nice, but isn't AS nice as this one. I'll be selling the other blue and keeping this guy. If he had a better personality, he'd be ideal. But noooo...he has to be a antisocial little nit
The doe is bred to the other buck (whom I'll be selling this weekend). I kept them exclusively together and was almost over-the-wall about keeping the little blue away (thinking it was a doe). He wasn't mature before now, so thats also a plus. She's really got a nice personality and their faults and positives compliment each other. I'll have to weigh him before he goes, I did when I first got him but want to update it it anyways, just in case.
These guys will be foundation Dutches. My ultimate goal is five-generation pedigree'd, registered, and shown. Obviously a long ways down the line, but a reasonable goal nonetheless.
