Lesson Learned About Moving Electrified Poultry Netting

I move my netting about 4 times each season to prevent pasture from being over grazed. The move done yesterday involved moving the netting to a location beyond the perimeter of electric wire. I got the netting in a bundle carrying it drapped over my head and shoulders to keep it barely free of grass and walked down pasture along fence. I keep getting an odd notion to jump and started to get mad. The urge came with intervals and started to make me tired. Then it dawned on me that I was getting zapped repeatedly because netting was contacting hot fence. The electricity was hitting me from multiple locations making so determining what was going on difficult. I have no problem figuring out a zap when it hits you from one location such as arm or leg but when it hits you from all over at once it is downright confusing. It was not as painful as when you get zapped from a single point.


Next time both fence chargers will be turned off.

Well, Im glad to hear you're o.k. in spite of the experience! I got zapped on the wrist a few weeks ago by a high voltage fence and that was quite painful.

hehe.glad you are are okay. i have been zapped by electric fence that are out with the cows,it feels like a bowling ball going through your arm.lol

the cow fences around here kill birds if the grab on (they cant let go)
