The Frozen Wasteland of Idaho
Ok, I have a 5 buff orp eggs and 6 white orp/ black orp crosses going in the incubator on Monday with the Welsummer eggs that I am picking up Sunday morning from gamebirdsonly. Tuesday, BamaChicken is sending me an assortment of Orpington eggs. Three weeks from now BantyChickMom is sending me SL Polish eggs (DW loves the Polish) and hopefully I will be getting some Blue Orp eggs from another source at that time too. I will be setting whatever Speckled Sussex, Buff Orp, Speckled Sussex/ Black Orp and White Orp/ Black Orp eggs I gather in the meantime. Hopefully my Black Orp pullet that is in with my Splash roo will start laying soon as well so I can collect those eggs too.

I have had some incubator troubles in the past but I am going to Utah to pick up a Sportsman 500 that I am borrowing until the end of the year on Sunday, plus I have a Hovabator 1588 due to arrive in the mail on Thursday. Wish me luck everyone! I can't wait! The advantage I have is that I will be working out of town and won't have time to worry about the eggs while I'm gone. That should make the time pass faster! We should be up to our ears in chicks soon!

Good luck with your hatches Jared!

But of course! Actually, they are going to be in a Sportsman 500 and in a Hovabator 1588 both are simple to take care of- she won't even have to turn them. Besides that, the chicken thing is starting to grow on her and she calls me every now and then when I'm out of town and informs me as to how she is managing my birds.
