Hi all. My sweet 5 year old speckled Sussex is sick. I started noticing something was wrong on Saturday. She kept pulling her neck in and wasn’t as energetic as usual. I thought it was just from the cold snap (we are in texas so they’re used to warm weather). She got continually more lethargic and wasn’t interested in any food and slept on the bottom of the coop instead of roosting with the others). Yesterday she was curled up by the door on the ground (SUPER out of character for her). I brought her inside.
I originally thought she was egg bound and put her in a warm bath with some epsom salt. She seemed to enjoy that. She also ate some worms and fruit I gave her (yesterday). Today, however she did not enjoy the bath and she didn’t eat the worms. I made her an egg and some oatmeal and she ate a little out of my hand. I put some electrolytes in her water and on the oatmeal and put a heating pad under her cage. I don’t know what else to do. She has no respiratory symptoms at all. All she wants to do is sleep. Please help 😓

Is she able to poop?

Check her over and take note of lice/mites, if her abdomen is bloated or feels tight like a drum, if her crop is emptying.
Hard to know what's going on with her. At 5 yrs of age she may be having some reproductive issues. Cancer, Salpingitis, EYP, etc. can be common in hens.

If she's not drinking, then tubing or syringing fluids into her would be good, she'll dehydrate quickly. Once she's rehydrated, then offer some wet feed, egg, or something that may entice her.

She’s mostly stopped eating and drinking. I’ve been trying to syringe her water with electrolytes but she just wants to sleep.
