One of my Rhode Island Red hens (I have four) has been quite lethargic for the last couple of days. She seems uninterested in food but I have seen her drinking. She's about two and a half years old and hasn't been laying since moulting about nine months ago. She's now standing still with her head tucked right in and her comb has gone a pronounced purple colour. Can anyone suggest probable cause and any possible cure.

Thanks

From what I've read, a discolored comb could be caused respitory issues, or even stress. My roo had a discolored comb just a few days ago, and it thankfully went away without intervention. His behavior was normal though. You could giving him some electrolytes ( like sav-a-chick) and see if that helps :)
