Hi there, we have two birds recently come down with similar symptoms but have no idea what is actually going on or how to help them. One is a young turkey poult only about 6-8wks old and the other is a d'uccle that is over a year old. They both just seem..off. Their balance is a tad off and they just seem weird. I don't know how to explain it. The turkey is not eating and the chicken kinda tries to eat a bit but hardly anything at all and neither seem to be drinking that much either. The turkey kinda has her head pulled in, I mean if you look at her compared to the others and how she normally is it's very easy to pick her out. Like she usually goes crazy over shiny things and now she hardly recognizes that its there. They both seem somewhat alert. The little turkey talks quite often and the chicken will try to run if someone was to reach down to pick her up.

Any ideas on what we can do for them?

I would start by posting this over in the Turkeys section of the forum. Turkeys are different enough from chickens that their problems are a little more difficult to diagnose. And things that merely make chickens ill will kill turkeys. So, I recommend asking the experts over in the other section for their input.

Good luck.

I'll try that, reason I posted it here was because we have a chicken with very similar symptoms. =/

I had a chicken who had similar behavior. She seemed to be slowing down and not eating much. Turned out she had a mite infestation. Are there any mites on your birds?
