Good morning! I joined because I am a new chick mom. Just got the chicks a week ago. Last night, everyone was happy and running around. This morning, one doesn’t want to get out of the brooder. She doesn’t want to eat while the others are going crazy. Any thoughts? I have a Brisnea Eco glow 1200 heat plate lowered on one side and raised up higher on the others to accommodate everyone. I have lost two already so I’m really paranoid. One showed up in bad shape from travel. The other I lost overnight two nights ago. They are in a dog kennel with pine shavings, I wiped it down with vinegar previous to them arriving. And then rinsed it off.

Have you checked the chick for pasty butt?
How old are they? What are you feeding them?

Mix up some save-a-chick make it have a drink 3x an hour and dip it’s beak into the feed. You have to keep at any lazy/lethargic chicks/poults or they won’t make it.
I they had some of that 2 days previous. I switched to corid just in case since I lost one suddenly already. I read to not offer vitamins when using corid? Thanks!
