A week or so ago I notice my Silkie chicken (2 years old) was having watery poops-every so slightly green. Eating and drinking fine so upped vitamins etc.

The last couple of days she’s become really lethargic, barely moving and has had a mucky butt. I’ve been giving her warm baths to keep it clean. Her vent doesn’t seem red or swollen but her skin is black so it’s hard to tail.

Yesterday she seemed like she was pushing her tail down so I thought maybe she was egg bound (but I’ve had a feel and can’t feel anything obvious). Now her tail is down all the time and she’s hunched up.

Today she’s barely moved and has been making weird neck movements-jerking head to the side. I tried to give her some strawberry which she attempted to eat but then some yellow liquid came up a few minutes later.

Yesterday was the last time I saw her eat her pellets. Today he crop is soft and squishy.

Any idea what this could be???

When was her last egg?

I'd start giving her Calcium Citrate with D3, 1 tablet Daily, just pop the tablet into the beak and let her swallow.

Address the crop symptoms. Often when a hen is having trouble with an egg or has some reproductive problems, the crop and/or digestive system will slow. Soft and squishy, she may have an impaction or the crop is sour - hard to know.

Thank you for your reply, she’s being bringing up liquid out of her mouth all afternoon and hasn’t moved so I’m taking her to the vet this evening. She seems like she’s suffering.
