Lethargic chicken with a swollen eyelid and pooping water

I’ve had my chicken for around 2 years now, I’m not sure how old she was when we got her. I think she is an Easter egged bantam breed I’m not sure what her exact breed is though. She was a very regular layer but stopped laying completely about a year ago due to some complications with our rooster, which we gave away about a year ago.

For about two weeks now she’s been very lethargic but is still interested in eating and drinking. I’ve noticed she’s been pooping a brown water or liquid. She has her head tucked in and her wings out and down. I’ve done a lot of research and I can’t seem to find a diagnosis. I’ve tried giving her sugar water or honey water or even olive oil which she does not want to take at all. I have been feeding her the feed she usually eats along with some tuna which she likes but she kept shaking her head after having a bite or two so I took it away.

I’ve had chickens for over ten years and I have no idea what has happened to her, I’ve never really seen this in the past and I’m not sure what to do. Please help I really don’t want to lose my little girl.

Welcome to BYC. Can you post a picture of her eyelid and face? Are there any bubbles or foam in the eye, discharge or pus, or any nasal drainage? Have you heard sneezing or crackles when she breathes? A swollen eyelid may be a sign of a respiratory disease, but a peck or sting, or getting something in the eye that has caused an infection might be possible causes. Does her crop empty overnight, and how does it feel during the day? Is her tail position up or down? Does she normally lay eggs?

Thank you for the warm welcome! I won’t be able to send a picture just yet because I am at work. There is nothing happening to her eye, it’s just a little bit swollen and her pupil on that eye is dilated. I think her crop has been emptying overnight I check her crop throughout the day but not really in the mornings. Her tail has been down recently and she does not normally lay eggs anymore. She has not laid in around a year because my rooster liked to mate with her the most and she’s a little bantam so she could not lay after that and she got very sick after we have him away but felt better when I took care of her and got her to eat. I’m not sure what to do. I hope she is feeling better when I get home.
