I have a year old isa brown hen who the past few days has been acting lethargic and not herself. I’ve given her electrolytes, probiotics acv. She is eating and drinking but not as much. She was perkier yesterday but now today just standing in the run. She is pooping very little and it’s dark greenish a nd white. I brought her in to examine her and she laid an egg without a shell I believe from the stress of bringing her inside. Her crop has been squishy so I thought sour crop but it was flat this morning g. I’m going to add some yogurt to her routine cause I am at a loss what to do with her. Any help is appreciated

I took a picture of her poop it’s very watery and slimy. She is not egg bound either. I did find a tiny start of bumblefoot but I don’t think that’s what making her act like this. She is a little wet I soaked her in a warm Epsom bath in case she was egg bound.

She may be suffering from a lack of calcium or a laying disorder where her shell gland in the oviduct is not making strong shells. This can make them feel very weak when laying shell-less eggs. I would give her a human calcium tablet with vitamin d orally for the next 3 days, to see if it helps her pass an egg with a shell. Try getting her to drink water, and offer some moist chickens feed and a little scrambled or cooked egg.

She is currently eating some boiled egg and drinking.

I have this exact same thing going on with my 2yr old Wyandot hen. I crushed a calcium and D tablet and sprinkled on scrambled egg but she isn’t keen on eating it. I’m also offering electrolytes and probiotics. Anything I’m missing?
