My barred rock was laying around a lot so I picked her up to try and see if she'd move but she just layed right back down. I checked if she was egg bound and i couldn't seem to see any signs of that. Also checked her crop, seems fine. Her comb isn't pale and she seems alert except she isn't moving. We separated her from the others and she didn't protest or stand up. The hen in question is about a year and a half old. Her crop has food in it so she has been eating. also i just saw her drink. She doesn't have leg mites and isn't broody. also her legs and wings don't appear to be broken/damaged. Please help.

Iff she was egg bound wouldn't i see like an egg lump near her butt? that's what i was told any way. it could be worms i suppose.
You may or may not. I'm in the middle of a situation with my BR right now - doing the same thing.. I had her separated for a couple days before I got her egg to pass.. She laid it yesterday. I didnt feel the egg or see a lump but after her 2nd bathand massage sure enough she laid the egg. I put her in warm water for about 20 min and put just a little oil around her vent and it worked. Although now she's acting like she wants to lay another so I'm hoping she passes it on her own. If not she'll be getting another soak shortly! In the process of figuring out whats wrong with her I also wormed her and she had been dusted for mites about a week ago.. Good luck with your hen!

Ok so I got home about an hour ago to find her standing up, and there was an egg ain her container with her. We had given her some probiotics so i think that helped. I think I'll keep her inside a few more days just to make sure she's alright, but I think she'll do okay.
