Hello. I have a 13 wk hen that suddenly started acting lethargic 1 week ago. She is in a pen with 4 other young ones that appear healthy. Brought her in garage, put vitamins in water. She has her regular feed and will give scrambled eggs, yogurt. She eats but very little. Poop appears normal. She sleeps a lot, wakes up and walks around when stimulated. No visible injuries. What else should I try? Antibiotics? If so what kind? Thanks!

Please post some photos of her and her poop?
How long have you had her?

Can you take a poop sample to your vet for a fecal float to see if Coccidiosis is an issue?
Not much to her poo cause she does not eat much. I have had them since they hatched in October..a gift from a hen that kept them hidden :D Today it seems she has a little more spunk to her.

Poop doesn't look too bad.
Could she have been being kept from food/water by her flockmates?
Improving quickly by having her own food/water, makes me think she was dehydrated and needing food. Some chicks are timid and won't push for their share.
Do check her crop to make sure it's emptying overnight, check her over for lice/mites.

She's still on chick starter or and all flock feed right?

All great suggestions. Google Respiratory, impacted crop, bound egg one or more may be issues.

Where are you? Sadly…

It’s important for the sake of the rest of your flock and community to check with your vet and county disease center to see where to test her poop. And if she’s unfortunately passed to send her too. :(

Hope she pulls through. 🙏🏼
