I hope someone can help....
Yesterday, one of my (Red Star) hens was walking slowly and sitting down every few minutes as if she needed to rest. She's 9 months old. her comb looks normal, her eyes are clear and she has her normal appetite. I checked to see if she was eggbound (she's not). This morning she perked up and all the hens laid eggs. This afternoon, another hen (1 1/2 yrs) began sitting down every few minutes. I feed them agway layer feed , provide water & calcium at all times and for treats, lettuce, popcorn, sunflower seeds & cheerios. They did not eat anything they shouldn't have and no strange droppings or smells. Does anyone know what's happening?

So, the first hen is fine, and the second hen is sitting too much , and will probably be fine tomorrow. If they all look normal, smell normal, act normal, I would think they're normal, could it be the heat? I think I would just keep an eye on things for a while, since no one seems to be sick. Maybe its a pecking order thing. You seem to know what to look for if they are sick, and it sounds like you are feeding them right, I hope whatever it is just passes
