My Tom turkey isn't doing so well. I thought a while back, when my chickens started to molt, that my turkey had also started to molt. He was acting funny, shy, he wasn't going out into the courtyard anymore or gobbling. I noticed he would huddle under the roosts and I thought it was maybe a turkey molt thing and he'd snap out when his feathers started to come in. Now he acts like a boxer after a bad fight. His eyes close and his head land back and he weaves and bobs a little. I could never catch him. Now I just well over and I can put my arms over him, and he staggers and is uncoordinated. I think he's lost color, but it's been such a gradual shift I fell horrible I can't be sure. Yesterday morning he wouldn't open his eyes fully, just let me look him over and a bunch of his down feathers fell out to the touch.
I don't know much of anything about turkeys I'm not even a pro at chickens. I'm a farm hand who has picked up the care in the poultry department because it gets overlooked a lot. So I'm trying.
He was gifted to us with his turkey hen, and they live with a bunch of chickens. She's thriving- is there anything I can do for him within a farm hand means?
