I have a 4.5 year old Easter egger hen that is acting very lethargic. Normally she’s the first to grab up any treats that get thrown into the run but today she was just standing there. Her tail was a bit droopy. She hasn’t laid any eggs in awhile but I figured that was because it’s getting towards molting time. She hasn’t really eaten or drank anything since I noticed her behavior this afternoon. I have her separated from the flock and have given her electrolyte water. The other hens look totally fine. Her comb looks a bit paler than usual. Her crop is feels empty and I don’t think she’s egg bound. I’m not sure what else to do for her. We just lost our Polish to an animal attack a a few weeks ago and my daughter is distraught that we are going to lose another chicken.

What is the large thing on the ground in front of her in the first picture? Did that come out of her? It sort of looks like a lash egg, but the color is more poop-like. It also looks too firm in that shape to be poo?

It’s not a lash egg. It’s part of a cauliflower my girls gave to the chickens.

Check her for lice/mites.
Look inside her beak, does she have any lesions or canker inside the beak?

It looks like she has an eye infection. I'd clean/flush the eye with saline, remove all the crusties and clean it the feathers the best you can, then put some Terramycin eye ointment in the eye. Do this 2x a day.

Look inside her ear for any pus or infection.

If she's not laid eggs and should have, give her 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 once daily for 3-5days to see if she's able to expel any material or egg.

Is she molting, do you see pin feathers?
When was the last deworming?
