Hi! First time poster.

I noticed my 22 week old Welsummer hens wattle getting these discolored and crusty looking spots and today notice a little node on her upper eyelid. This morning she seems lethargic while the other 4 hens in the mixed flock seem completely normal. I couldn’t catch what her stool looks like. She is not yet laying, while 3 of the 5 of mixed flock are. I checked her body for any mites or lice and she looks very clean.

The chickens free range in our small backyard, but not every day. I let them out from their run every couple of days and sometimes just the evening before they turn in for night.

The run is sand which I clean out every week and mix in some Saturday lime on occasion. They eat a grower/layer pellet from local feed store and have plenty of fresh water available.

I googled and get a mix of potential illnesses but I really wanted to check with people who may have seen this! Any insights appreciated. Not sure if there are any local chicken vets, I am just north of Dallas in North Texas.
Thanks!

I've googled "fowl pox" enough times to guess that yours looks like fowl pox. They can get it from something as simple as a mosquito. I know it's contagious amongst flock members, so you could try separating her to see if you can spare the others. Otherwise, I think most people just wait for it to run its course. Hopefully someone has some ideas for supportive care. I'm sure it doesn't feel very good to have those sores on delicate tissue. :(
