7 month old hen fully feathered sitting on bottom of coop head down eyes closed. She has been moved to crate with heat. She was given water by syringe and drank it. Not standing at this point. Ideas?
 
Has she been laying eggs recently, and were they normal with hard shells? How does her crop feel—empty and flat, full, hard, doughy, or puffy? Is she moving all extremeties? Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease, and have you added any new birds to the flock recently?
 
She did pass. Had been laying eggs, crop was full but firm. Had been vaccinated for mareks and no new chicks. Legs and head moved but wouldn’t stand.
 
I’m sorry that you lost her. The full crop might have been an impacted crop. If you would like to find out what might have killed her, you could get a necropsy tomorrow by your state vet, if you can keep the body cold, but not frozen. Here is a list of most state vets:

Sometimes I do my own necropsies just to look at the major organs and intestines to look for anything unusual. If you do that, please take pictures. Here is a video of the organs and a necropsy:
