Lets Discuss Gander/pair management/Breeding

Now that is helpful. Years ago I had a few geese years ago, a mixed flock , but sold off the noisy ones young and never saw fighting, but they got picked off by predators, so didn't have them , except one gander for more than 3 years... plead ignorance then....
I use 2X4 or 2X2 welded wire and have a field fence perimeter around most of the property. I am going to separate he free-ranging area, and add others with fencing, also.
I just assumed they'd gotten along for 2 years ...until now-

they were ok. There is that sexual maturity thing in animals

I put up a temp . fence in pen with a permanent gate, but am getting more welded wire today and will included , the aviary netting above , so no one can fly over. I'd done that between the ducks and geese already as I had a goose fly over the barrier last year once or twice. I was actually surprised I didn't get attacked as I cut wings last night, because the goose yelled like I was killing her when I grabbed her. Only one gander the alpha one tried to nip, but I had his head facing back under my arm.
I just hadn't been able to gleen any info on anyones set up for gander management " I guess those groups you see are growing out youngsters or off season?

Actually the only one I can recall is someone whose set up was pallets pens(which I wondered how he kept the coons, coyotes, ect. out. And the only set up on DH I can see is short fences dividing duck groups, and groups of geese in a pasture...they must be young ...because they show more than one gander in them....or he culls the bad ones....? Metzger only shows breeder group divisions..I guess the focus is on the birds not management quarters....I have looked at all on here and anything I can google....there just isn't much on geese or its a pair....not managing breeding groups
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5647261 Here is the first pics of when we built their night lockup pen 2 years ago. Needless to say it has been modified into 5 separate pens - 3 for runner ducks on one side and now dividing the geese into 2 10 X6 pens. Inside the pen , as dividers I have welded wire with chicken wire on the bottom, and aviary netting between the ducks and geese attached down from the ceiling to the above mentioned fencing dividers.

I always run my current year crop of goslings (the ones I keep)
with some of the adults during the spring/summer/fall months.
Most of the adults are happy to babysit for me.
Since goslings grow quickly it can appear they are all adults running together in some
of the pictures you've seen.
I never have any problems with the adult ganders pestering the young gander goslings
but come breeding season that could be a whole different story AND ITS NOT TRUE that
ganders raised together won't fight with each other. They will.
The young ganders seem to start doing the pecking order thing with each other
around 6 months old but no serious fighting occurs at that time but there are no set in stone standards...
its all subjective to the individual birds personality and environment.
