DH is still working on my guinea coop. I find the keets totally entertaining, but I'm ready for these wild hooligans to go outside.

They are cool birds..they travel in a clump and rush about, changing directions like a school of fish. They muscled right in on the chickens, roosting with them like they own the place.

I love them. I am so glad I got them.

They certainly keep me busy. My day isn't complete unless I rescue a baby that has trapped itself in the feeder. See they all like to roost on top of the waterer. But the feeder has no lid...

Silly things. And they are destined for my pasture with 10 african geese and 3 guard donkeys. That is gonna be a loud place to be!

I have 11 freeranging,At times it sounds a horde of children driving their rusty bicycles around the yard...
Then at times they make this god aweful racket.Dont know what sets them off but jebus.. it carries like a fog horn.
Then other times they take flight and do fly byes around the house. They cant fly long but couple that with their mouths yapping .. its a hoot.

They just now getting their bumps on their heads, loosing hair on their necks and their feet are turning black and their little bacon bits hanging out of their mouths. Its so darn ugly.. but they keep us laughing all the time.
Now they even dare to get into my dogs face. She doesnt know what to think and she runs off. They flare their wings, crouch down and go after her. Its a riot.. a pitbull running off with tail between legs into the house.

At first we thought our big BO rooster would kill them.. HA!! He took one of them by the neck and gave it a good shake ..ONCE!!
They worked out the pecking order allready. and Rooster is not top dog anymore.

We have 11 adult guineas who have slept in a cedar tree above the nice house we built for them for about a year. We put all 40 of their babies outside in the house when they were about 12 weeks old (got tired of the noise and mess in the garage). The noise was so bad the adults lasted about two days before they moved and found a new tree 100 yards away.
We had gotten used to the adults going off in the woods and not hearing them very much. Not so with the new ones, they stay close to the house and basically scream for no apparent reason, NON STOP!
