Let's Pitch in and Help Writer of Words

Writer of Words is doing a great job to help with kids. She is a inspiration to me, personally. As you may have seen she has been donating items to the local Children's Crisis Center. They have asked her to do a class on knitting or crocheting and she has agreed. She is doing what many others can't. The Crisis Center would love to have a quilt to hang on the wall so that they can put the children's name on it that come through the center in 2010.

So if you can, only if you can, I am asking that all you quilt block makers out there, and anyone else that would like to help, to match me at making the block below. I have discussed this with Writer and we agreed that the block would be better in a smaller size, so we agreed on 3 1/2 in in size. This way the center can have more room for more names as they get lots of children and they don't want to leave anyone out. Please, I ask you, only if you can.....let's do this for the children and to support one of our own here on BYC.

So....all you have to do is get a 3 1/2 inch square and add a 1"x2" piece of fabric to the center and applique it on and WAALA!!!! You have a 3 1/2 inch block. Easy Peasy. YOu can PM me if you need assistance

This block is only for an example so you can see what the 3 1/2 inch block should look like. You do not have to do the corner pieces, but you can if you'd like.

Maybe Writer of Words can give us a date that would be suitable for her.....beings she is a Teacher

While I am thinking....Writer of Words, your class students can hand sew the blocks together as a class project....you know.....Children helping Children

I looked at the block already and I was thinking why not cut out a 3 & 1/2 inch block and applique the block in the middle on it. It wouldn't have to be a square it could be a heart or anything???? What do you think?

I will do 10 IF Ginger will do the math..(if someone doesn't do this you may end up with blocks that don't match)..i can draft/reduce mine..just want to make sure it is the same..lol..

WOW!!!! i am amazed that within 15 minutes we already have 3 people which means 30 blocks for the Childrens Center. AMEN!!!!
