Well, my daughter is taking after her mom... she loves ducks and wants to build her own flock. Last year I let her try out her "Fern Zuckerman" side on a runty welsh harlequin that wasn't doing well and it ended up not making it despite her attempts. Ever since she's been asking for another duckling to raise.

I picked up turkeys this weekend and she was along so I let her choose a duckling from the feed store to raise with my goslings and this is what she got:

This was from a hatchery choice feed store mixed lot, so no knowing for sure. I'm thinking they came from Welp via Privett.

He's not as gray as blue swedish I've gotten before. He likes to stand up tall but that could be because he wants to be big like the goslings. He's got a yellow cap on the back of his head and his belly is all yellow. I'm thinking maybe a runner for the stance and broken markings, or a silver swedish with flawed markings? H's also got a lot of white (yellow) on him in a symetrical but broken pattern, way more than just a bib. Either way he's a sweet pet.

The only thing I know for sure is that whatever he is it's purebred.
The hatchery sells runners, swedish, buffs, and magpies that I guess could all be possible. My buff goslings certainly have a grey cast to them.

Maybe a blue swedish?

I've had blue swedish before and I recall them to be darker. I'm thinking possibly silver since the hatchery would have to hatch silver early to breed blues later this year or next. I think it's pretty unlikely they would have different color projects of unadvertised magpies, but he has an awful lot of white (yellow) for a swedish... but then hatchery swedish are never great coloring.

He didn't care for standing up on my washer today. I even pulled out one of my older cayugas thinking it might encourage him but nah. Normally he stands up with his chest vertical and his neck stretched out, but again, he's the tiniest bird in the brooder.

I'll guess Swedish.

cute li'l punkin.

I am going with a Swedish / Buff mix! Looks just like my babies that were a mix - mama was Buff and daddy was Swedish!
