Lets play "Where is the storm"

It is just starting here. We are going to get 3 inchs tonight and Teusday. I know that is not alot but WE are in West TEXAS, we do not get snow. So in the morning it will be scary on the raod with people who do not know how to drive on ice/snow.

Thank you all. Yeah hope no power outages. We didnt lose power last time but our oldest DD did for 5 days. We tried to get her to stay here but she had 3 dogs at the time and was not going to leave them, so we drove all the way to Mattoon to get her a propane heater.This time we are prepared we have 2 kerosene heaters for her to use in case. I went and bought hand warmers today for my incubator and brooders incase of power loss. Hopefully it wont get that bad.

I'm SICK OF SNOW and I live in frekkin' Alabama where we normally don't get alot of snow much less snow that sticks around for over a week

as for me and my chickens we are ready for spring!

I love the snow, so got my fill this winter. I love being in the house sitting by the fire where it is warm. I HATE when we loose power, so I am worrying about all you chicki moms and dads and your little chilly fuzzy butts. I keep planning to buy a generator, but we rarely loose power and it seems expensive. If you do loose power, I hope it gets restored soon. As far as our weather guy, it will miss KY this time in my area.

Keep us posted, if you maintain power, and stay warm. Anyone thinking of building a tunnel to your coop? Covered with a strong roof, so you can get there in this snow?

We've had some freezing drizzle here in central Iowa and the snow just started. We are under blizzard warning tomorrow afternoon with acumulations of up to 18 inches. I am worried about my daughter who had to go work in Mn until Wednesday at the Mall of America. At least she has a rental car so if she gets in a fender bender it's on the company and not her insurance.

Tip of the mitt Michigan and once again it is supposed to miss us. For us it has been a long winter even though we're used to the winter weather.

Am sitting here at work (SO dispatch) looking on the security camera at my snow covered truck and watching it snow. Snow plows and salt trucks out everywhere. Yup, I reckon you could say the storm is here. Now just waiting to see how bad it gets and hoping the power doesn't go out cuz I have 19 Silver Cuckoo Marans eggs in the bator on day 12.

It is 4am Tuesday here in NE Ohio and I woke to the rain.The snow on my drive is now ice.I know it is not very nice,BUT the dogs gave me a good laugh when I let them out. I am glad I closed the gate,because then I don't have to leash them and walk on the ice. I bet my gate is frozen shut. It is early but there are no school closings. I know I am not driving on the ice and will keep the kids home even if school is in session.

Dh was heading to Indiana yesterday.When I spoke with him at 3pm all was still sunny while he was passing through Toledo Ohio.Yesterday was such a nice day.Sunny.I will be outside with the garden shovel I think trying to break the ice. I just hope no electrical lines get pulled down. I can live with out the electric though. I have my new gas furnace,so we will keep warm and read by candle if needed.
