I'm a newbie- getting my first chicks in April, but I think this will be a good solution for brooding the 4 chicks I'm expecting. It's a Midwest Homes For Pets Wabbitat Deluxe Rabbit Home with one extension added on. With the extension it gives 9.5 square feet of room, and if the chicks need more space before they are coop ready, I can add another extension bringing it to 12 square feet. I think this is a good option for those of us new-to-chickens people with an urban lot who are planning to keep their chicks indoors until they are coop ready. An added bonus is that you can collapse it to store it. I also like the fact that there is a side door, and that you can close off the extension until it's needed.
