4 48"x40" pallets
1 2"x12"x12'for the chicken run
2 2"x4"x8' for the legs
1 Sheet of Aluminum Roofing
$20 in hardware
About 2-3 days of work.
Mostly everything I had just laying in the shed rather than the hardware.

Has anyone done a coop with two separate runs? I'm considering putting a coop in the middle of my garden area, fence each garden side connecting to the coop, and gardening one run while letting the chickens fertilize the other, then swapping sides after harvest each year. Anyone do anything like that?

I haven't, but I remember seeing something like this in a permaculture design. It seemed like a great idea and really grabbed my interest.

I built my coop and hoop house run last winter. I have 6 birds. The coop is 90% pallets. The hoop run is cattle panels and hardware cloth. I can pull the coop around with my 4 wheeler.

This is our pallet coop, was build for out turkeys to keep them separated from the chickens at night.
Saw an add in CL for free pallets, had an old window laying around. Used 2x3 nailed in between the pallets to provide structural support. 2x4 for the roof along with more pallets. Used landscaping timbers as post fro the run frame. 2x4 welded wire. Sand inside the coop to keep it somewhat dry.
During construction.
.

After it was done, they don't stay inside the coop, so I put a tarp to keep them dry.
