Oliver Twist
His mam was Cookie, who I bottle fed. Just before Cookie lambed she was out on the hill. I noticed that she was going to lamb soon and it was a terrible day with strong winds and blizzards. So I walked her across the hill to my garden so she could shelter around the house. She gave birth in the dog kennel. Sadly, before Oliver was weaned Cookie got stuck in a bog and died. He was a naturally tame lamb so took him into the croft. He is now 1 yo and one of my favourite rams of mine.

Ozzy and Sweetie
Ozzy is a 7 yo ram I got from a friend. She was going to shoot him as he was wild with her and was a lot of trouble to catch. When I was looking after this friends croft I tamed Ozzy to me so she said I could have him.
Sweetie is my second oldest ewe at 11 yo and was also bootle fed as a lamb. She is a brilliant mother and has had twins for the past 3 years and still in good condition. Oliver adopted her as his new mam after Cookie died. It looked funny, Sweetie with her young twins and Oliver an older lamb all running around as a family.

Menace, originally Swizzles
Another bottle fed ewe and is 7 yo. She has had twins the past 2 years and all her lambs turn out to be the biggest each year, even the twins.

Pepsi
Her mam was bottle fed. Pepsi is a twin but still managed to be my biggest ewe. She is 8 yo and has produced some of the best lambs I've bred.

Frosty and Dazzle
Dazzle was essentially nobody's sheep as a lamb so I took her on as my own. Frosty is her daughter. They are a rarity on Foula being white and of a decent quality. About 3% or less of the sheep here are white so we tend to compromise on quality to keep the colour going. They are 5 and 1 yo. Dazzle is great because she always has white lambs so I've put her to the best of my rams each year to bring up the whites quality.

Bounty
Such a lovely ewe this. She loves being scratched and stroked and will paw at anyone she thinks will stop and speak to her. Also a ewe that produces quality lambs. She is 7 yo. Her mam was bottle fed and the pair of them learned to open gates to get into gardens and scoff flowers.

Caramel
I bought her as a lamb in 2007 and she quickly tamed to be my favourite lamb that year. She has horns and produced an excellent first lamb. Sadly she went missing before that lamb was weaned and hasn't yet turned up, dead or alive. I miss her as she would baa at me when ever she heard the garden gate clang no matter where she was.

5 Alive, now 5 Dead
This was not a breeder but had to include him as he grew on me. His mam was bottle fed so he lived along the road by my house. Notice the dot-to-dot 5 on his back, that year my friend had a lamb with a ? on its back and another friend had a foal with a ! across its back. I gave him to a friend as a gift so she could have him for the freezer and to make a rug with his skin.

Cooper
I love this 3 yo ram but he hasn't been seen for a year now. A great big, naturally tame sheep that had many a great lamb with my ewes.

Musselbrough Illona
My first brood mare. Is only 1.5 yo so not ready for any work/breeding yet. I'm going to train her for riding and cart/pack work so I can't wait til she's 3 to start training. A lovely natured filly from good stock. She should mature at around 38.5". At the moment I'm still bonding as I've only recently bought her but will soon be bringing out the harness and pack kit to get her used to it all.

Clivocast Roxi
My second brood mare. Also only 1.5 yo and should mature at 40+". Is so calm and sweet with the others. Still bonding so daren't try the harness yet. Bred from good bloodlines so I'm hoping for some great foals. I'm 'stalking' a few stallions that I really want to put the lasses to when they're old enough. I hope they don't leave Shetland in the meantime.

Toffee
12 yo. A recent rescue but my aunt owned him when he was young so I know him well and have a strong bond and attachment to him. I used to ride him as a child and was the only person he would carry happily just before he was given away. My cousins lost interest in him and I wasn't around enough to justify my aunt keeping him. He stayed on Foula though so I kept an eye on him. He was kept on too rich grazing and not hoof-trimmed properly so I got him back in June. After monthly trimming there is a vast improvement already. The vet is impressed with my skills, hoof trimming and horse whispering. Not long before I can jump on Toffees back again.

Tallulah
My nearly 5 yo working Border Collie. This was her second close encounter with chickens, the first being when she ate a friends grower. I'm happy to say I've trained her very well to now be able to trust her 110% with poultry. Lula has a very domineering personality so it took me 2 years to be in full control of her but we're a great team now. I grin with pride when ever I think back to how she was as as pup to what she's like now. She loves nothing better than to have the wind blowing in her ears on the quad. She is a brilliant chum for my bottle fed lambs at home as well, goes around cleaning up their messes and bottoms and will cuddle up in front of the fire with them. Currently I am thinking about breeding her for working pups.
The chick posing is Porcelain. She is a lovely hen that raised her very own chicks this year. She's a BO x ISA Brown.

Oh boy I have a long list too

The dogs: Bella 2 yr old German Shepherd, Tank 3 yr old Mini Aussie and Jennie older then dirt Chi mix

My coming 8 yr old Mini Mare Pooter taking first place in Sr. Mares at the UP State Fair (a proud moment for us since this was only her 2nd show)

My 2 Rocky Mountain Horses Dakota (16 yrs) and Harley (7 yrs) Dakota is Harley's mom and both were rescues that I got 3 yrs ago

Brandy a 20 yr old Arab cross whom I rescued in 2010. She has come a long way and is a lover once she trusts you

Rebel a 10 yr old QH who I bought as a 5 month old. He has turned out to be a very nice level headed horse and is perfect to keep around for my nieces and nephews to learn to ride on

And this is Manny a 9 yr old Qh who I just rescued he has heaves and was confined to a garage (yes garage, not barn) with no ventilation. He also had not seen a vet in years, no farrier work, worming nothing! He is on the mend now but I am sure we have a long road ahead. His heaves are pretty much under control with no wheezing or coughing, and after 3 trims 2 weeks apart his feet are starting to look better. So hopefully by spring he will be ready to find a new home

Now the cats We have 6 cats inside right now 3 are our "forever" cats and 3 are fosters waiting to find new homes. I dont have pics of all of them but here are a few. We also have a 7th cat who is a full time barn cat due to litter box issues but he is the perfect barn cat. He kills mice and birds but he doesn't touch the chickies, even the babies I could not as for more.

We do have a lot of critters but they are all very worth the time, money and energy and I never regret any of them. We do have a lot coming in and out here because we do some rescue on our own as well as foster for our local animal placement group so our place is definitely interesting and never boring!
