Oh that one's a beauty. Love the blue!

my favorite of all items posted thus far. I collect blue and white plates, bowls and critters….only have a bunny and a cat. Gotta keep my eyes open for a chicken!

He's about 14 inches tall, and quite hefty.

Yes, I love blue chickens. My mom used to have a lot of blue & white china, mostly serving pieces and figurines, I don't remember any chickens though.

I used to have two of these, thanks to my clumsy husband this is my only survivor.

Ah, the olden days when companies either sent you neat stuff in exchange for a million proofs of purchase, or allowed you to buy items like that. In the '50's I remember sending away for a "navy frogman,"(from Kelloggs) I didn't know what it was but on tv it showed how it bobbed around in the water for the longest time .

Reality, you had to add a small amount of baking soda to a tiny compartment - then put him in the water. He came up for air once or twice and you had to start over with the baking soda. What a ripoff.

Glad you still have the one. In all the years I have frequented flea market/vintage shops I have never seen any of these.

A couple years back Wal-Mart Christmas sets were getting nostalgic, so it was in a set with a couple of little boxes of cereal.

drumstick diva, I remember those days as well, the collecting and waiting that had to go on for such small but dearly appreciated treasures, I have a lot of fond memories about cereal.


Not chicken related, but cereal.
