Let's share our chicken decor!

I love doilies. I use paper ones on cake plates, but be careful when cutting the cake or you end up eating the doily

I can't leave candy in dishes too close or somehow they become empty.

I used to have crocheted doilies my grandma made but think they were lost during a move (as were my 1950's cookie jars and a pencil sketch of my grandparents that my Dad had made a frame for). Really hate losing the sentimental stuff that can't be replaced.

And what is it with candy dishes? Are they all self-emptying? That happens here too. lol

So sorry about the lost items. I have some of the crocheted ones, would be happy to look thru the trunks if you want a couple?
Not sure what you call them, but I have a few of those side table covers with white linen or cotton centers with crouched edging. Used to keep one on my butcher block work table but had to remove it - Budcat kept pulling it off

And yes, all candy dishes are self emptying or maybe we have a poltergeist? Hard candies sit and sit, but the chocolates disappear into thin air .

How generous you are! If you have one or two extra doilies, I'd love to have them. Just pm me if you do, ok? Thanks sunflour!

Chocolates make it to your candy dishes? Ours barely get out in the open air, they never see the inside of a candy dish.

Even the hard candies are at risk here. But usually chocolate can't go out in dishes as it'll melt. So we often have to keep it in the fridge, which is a blessing because out of sight, out of mind! If I can't see it I'll forget I have it and, if I can see it all the time... you know.... chocolate. But hey, I'm not averse to hard candies so they're in danger too. They're so pretty, and thus so attractive, so come-hither.

Here's some stuff I just remembered about.

My mom got me this when we first moved into this house. It's a dinner bell, you know, one of those "Come and get it!" type things.

This is my chick watering can! I got it from Target years ago. It's a horrible watering can but it was just so darn cute I could not resist it.

Our cat Jaz helped me take this photo.

Love that dinner bell! I could use one of those (not that any bell wouldn't work but yours is a ROOSTER bell therefore, it's better).

Still laughing over the "come hither" candy phrase. Way too accurate, lol.

Mine never melts, LOL! I have had broken teeth from hard candy, how in the world can people let those melt, Me - I crunch them. :)
