I have no cameras here, unfortunately. I didn't in a million years imagine I would need them. I have seriously reconsidered over the years of living here.

I plan on getting some solar powered cameras when I have my chicken area fully built. I also plan on having a lock on the gate as well as double netting around the perimeter. I doubt anyone around here would want to mess with my chickens, but I don't want to risk it. I know the feral cats around here that they feed want a piece of my chickens though.

He did, but not my freezer. Animal control came and took care of him for me. They don't usually do that, but a friend of mine was dating the ACO's son.

Super good to know! I've had issues with neighbors. Mostly when I had rabbits. With them gone, I don't deal with as much human/animal stupidity. Now that I actually have Internet, those cameras may come in handy.

DId you lose any to Mareks? I don't know much about Mareks, I haven't experienced it. Knock on wood.

I have lost about 10 to actual symptoms showing, but am culling most of the chickens so I can focus on ducks instead since they won't get it

Cameras are very useful if you have chickens, you could have an incident and be regretting that you had not gotten a camera soon enough. Plus, who does not want to look on your phone to see what your chickens are doing occasionally? I do that all the time, LOL. I have a solar-powered VicoHome camera. It does not stay recording always, which is something I do not like about it. But it does catch recordings of predators at night, which is something I have to give it big credit for.

My area didn't have Internet for the first five years I lived here. I had to make do with poor cell phone connection. So that's one reason I never had cameras. No use in videoing something that isn't connected to anything or recording.
