I just have to start slow and get a few breeders from this. Hopefully about a year from now I'll be up and running with this strain.

So should I hatch the blue GCMs out and retain the cockerals and pullets? Is it worth it to have a blue and black barred golden cuckoo rooster for a while? The hens can all be together and will yield blue and blacks, but If I have blue hens with the blue rooster, I'll have splashes. What are your thoughts on pairing with the GCM line I already have?

Keep doing what you are already doing and you ll get there. is not a quantity we are after is the quality and the dedication plus the time.

one year after another .one generation after another slow but a study past .

they are related the 2 hen s Blue and black.

she have a pretty face good eyes nice strait comb.

she s a lighter blue ,will do very well with a black based rooster ( like your GCM F0 or F1 is darker will balance the Blue in the future progeny)

I tried to snap a few pics of one of the pullets coming up. She's a little dark, but nice golding. They are a little flighty, so its hard to get a good close picture until they are a little older:

Hi Morbius18 I like what I see .

she s stunning a blue copper hens,
Great type.
pretty head and face
nice eyes.
nice comb
well feathered shanks
deep chest
wide shoulder
nice shape tail at the right angle
nice back.

yeah she s a Queen for sure worthy enough to be a mother of your future cockerels lines.

hen like her I ll pay a lot money for her if she was for sale in this country.

The GCM pullets look good to me nice type and well colored they still young .

My blue copper laid the darkest egg today that I've got so far. Golden cuckoo egg on right top, easter egger on left top, f1 olive egger on bottom left, f3 olive egger in middle bottom, buff orpington cross on bottom right.

I managed to get a few more blue copper and splashes that the breeder claimed were from Bev Davis' line, as well as some pure blue and splash ameraucanas for my olive eggers. It's easier to work with known genetics of blue/black/splash ameraucanas than my unknown easter eggers.
