Statistically ordering six of something guarantees a pair. I wouldn't mix other breeds/species of ducks with Muscovy. But I don't like mutts/mules. Muscovy are in my opinion cleaner than the other types of ducks. They don't spend as much time in the water. they are more like geese in that regard.

I'd only mix pekins in if i ended up with just 1 muscovy female. I really just want a trio or quad of them, but I just don't know duck ratios very well. I literally didn't do anything with my last ducks, I didn't know they needed things different than chickens did. How none died or got sick honestly is a mystery
