Five of our chicks are about a month old and the other nineteen just made two weeks old today. We've kept the brooder containing the "little" chicks in the coop with the older chicks(and two ducks, approximately the same age)so they could hear and occasionally see them. When would be a good time to let them start mingling with one another? Thanks!

As the young ones outnumber the older ones by so much, I think it would be safe to let them mingle right now. Just keep an eye on them for a while to make sure nobody's getting picked on. Very recently I put three 3-wk-olds in with five 5-wk-olds and they were absolutely fine. They hang out in two separate groups during the day but at night they all roost together on the one perch.
