Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am being forced into selling off my flock of over 100 birds. My family is running me off the place I had been keeping them, so I am being forced into letting go of my small business. I had grown really attached to my flock and it breaks my heart to have to leave everything I cared about. We were trying to get a place outside of town, but my husband has given up in discouragement saying that we could never afford our own place. He is giving up his dreams of agriculture which we had both been working so hard on for the past 5 years. We recently had to sell off our herd of cows because of this situation out here which I know really hurt him. I'm just in a state of despair. I don't know if I'm just not seeing things clearly or if we really do just need to give up and live a quit life in town for the rest of our lives never pursuing our dreams. We're not even in our mid-20s yet, and giving up just feels like ripping our hearts out. Does anyone have any advice? It feels like agriculture is a rich man's game and unless you inherit land, resources, and money you can never work your way up.
