Tomorrow, if the weather is fine....I'd like to take one out on the green grass where you can really see their size. My deep litter has paper shreds throughout, so the chicks kind of blend and you really can't see their individual size and looks.

I did see one venture outside today but he went right back in to mama....it is starting to happen, slowly but surely!

That is sooo great! Now you will have to keep up with the beekeeping thread of mine on here and give us updates, pics and tips as you learn with your bees. Mine are coming May 13th!!!

Can't wait! I am starting on building my hive this weekend and hope to have it finished by next weekend.

They are slowing down on their feed, as I am not keeping a full feeder in there for them all day and the other hens are eating their food also. They were finally venturing out of the coop onto the grass today and yesterday they didn't look so full and ugly...like as if they would pop open if you touched them. They have adapted well to life in the big coop and have learned to avoid the big gals at the feed trough.

Very lively and quick moving little birds still!

Haven't had a chance to take a pic but will do so tomorrow evening.

Finally....was able to get a pic or two of the big family out on a picnic! I got these chicks 20 days ago, so I imagine they are at least 22-23 days old in these pics. They are being fed once a day with the big hens and have to wait until all the other birds have eaten. They aren't excessively piggy acting at all....basically act just like my other chickens at feeding time.

They wanted to hang near the buildings for awhile but today they discovered the grass and they haven't stopped foraging since! The sunshine and fresh air will make them grow!!
