Newbie question here - if this is a repeat question on another post, please feel free to point me that direction.
I have a couple of black polish/white crested roos that I plan to just let run with the rest of my egg laying dual-purpose breed hens. Is the top hat trait easily passed on when cross bred? What is the potential that some of the offspring will have the fancy crest? Or will I end up with some goofy (if not scary looking) birds? LOL! Our birds are kept only for meat and eggs so 'looks' are not first on the list of usefullness to us. But I was curious to know if anyone else has let their polish birds cross breed with other hens and what their experience was.
